Your internet connection isn’t just another utility; it’s the backbone of your business. Yet many UK organisations still rely on standard SoGEA or FTTP broadband long after it has stopped meeting their needs. A leased line is a dedicated, uncontended internet connection that delivers guaranteed speeds, reliability… Read More

Exascale launches 2Gbps full fibre packages in Telford and West Bromwich
Residential packages are available to order now on Exascale’s own network, with speeds up to 8.5Gbps to follow once its XGS-PON upgrade is complete.
Exascale has announced that its new 2Gbps Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) packages are now available to order for residential customers served by its own on-net networks in Telford and West Bromwich.
Delivered over Exascale’s existing Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON), the new packages bring multi-gigabit full fibre connectivity to eligible homes across both network areas.
The launch gives households more capacity for demanding everyday use, from working from home and streaming on multiple screens to downloading large games and connecting a growing number of devices.
Faster packages to follow with XGS-PON
The 2Gbps launch is the next step in the development of Exascale’s residential network. Once its upgrade to XGS-PON is complete, Exascale will introduce faster packages with speeds up to 8.5Gbps.
XGS-PON provides greater network capacity to support these higher-speed services and growing demand from residential and business customers. Further details about the faster packages and their availability will be announced as the upgrade progresses.
Further network expansion in West Bromwich
Alongside the residential package launch, Exascale is progressing further expansion of its own fibre network in West Bromwich, with plans to connect business estates, multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and high streets.
The expansion will extend Exascale’s reach to more commercial premises and residential buildings, supporting the connectivity needs of local businesses, retailers and households.
By continuing to build its own infrastructure, Exascale is investing in both wider coverage and the capacity needed to deliver faster services across the area.
Check availability and order
Residential customers in Telford and West Bromwich can check their address and order available packages through Exascale’s online ordering portal.
Availability depends on whether the property is served by Exascale’s own network. Businesses, property owners and managing agents interested in the West Bromwich expansion can contact Exascale to discuss connectivity requirements.

Notes to editors
FTTP delivers fibre directly to the premises. GPON is the technology currently supporting the new 2Gbps residential packages. Packages offering speeds up to 8.5Gbps will follow once the XGS-PON upgrade is complete.
Achieving multi-gigabit speeds on an individual device requires compatible networking equipment. Performance over Wi-Fi depends on the device, router and conditions within the property.
