This tier is worth considering when several people or devices frequently move large files, run backups or download substantial updates at the same time. It can also suit a home setup built around multi-gigabit networking.
It is not necessary for every household. Compare your actual transfer needs and equipment with the lower tiers before choosing the larger line rate.
Check the complete multi-gigabit path
For a single wired device to use capacity above gigabit, check the network adapter, each router or switch port in the path and the cabling. A gigabit-only link anywhere along that path limits that device’s transfer rate.
Wi-Fi devices have their own capabilities and environmental limits. The broadband line rate is not a promise that every wireless device will achieve that figure.
What can limit a large transfer?
The source server, storage performance, device processing and network conditions can all affect a download or upload. A fast broadband connection does not remove those limits.
If you bring your own router, confirm that it is compatible with the service and has suitable port capabilities. If you are unsure about your equipment, speak to Exascale before ordering.
